Performing Arts Bussiness Project Entail + Budgeting
How many people have been fatally stabbed this year in London?
At least 46 people have been fatally stabbed in London since the beginning of the year.
So far in 2018 there have been 1,296 stabbings in London up to the end of April, according to official statistics from the Met Police.
DUE TO THIS RISING ISSUE I FEEL THERE IS A NEED FOR AN AWARENESS CALL TO THIS PROBLEM!
Hence the reason for why i call this project Game over, Game over is a project about knife crimes and its effect on families and society members, In this piece we will explore how peer pressure and wrong decisions can lead to different situations.
the main audience focus of this piece are teenagers and parents.
As this is an ensemble piece i will need twelve actors for the show, the rehearsal / performance length will be no longer than a week long and the equity job minimum payment for an actor is £333 a week. (£333( A week per actor) X 12 = £3,996)
PROPS AND COSTUME
*Skater dress - £5
*four puffer jackets - £20
* Apron -£2
*Cap - £5
*Hats x4 - £5
*Blazer -£15
*Empty bottle
TOTAL = £52
*NOTE - All of these items can be found in my possession if not all i can ask family or friends if i can borrow it for the show.
TECHNICIAN
£10 an hour is the equity minimum pay for a technician and we are going to need a technician for at least 7 hours which means it will be £70 a day, however we will need the technician for the whole week so that will be £350 in total
PROJECTOR WITH A SCREEN - £100
MARKETING AND PUBLICITY = £700
SPACE HIRE - LSC theatre =£50 an hour X 7 hours = £350 a day. TOTAL price = £1,750
Total price needed for the whole project will be = £6,948
The space gives us the luxury to have up to 120 seats in the audience and if we are to price the audience £5 per seats that will be £600 per show . As i was thinking of having four shows to create more awareness, this will include Martine and evening shows the total income from the show will be £2,400
Also i was thinking of applying for Arts council funding to help with 60% of the total Expenditure for the project because it will be coming from the community itself and people who the problem we are trying to highlight as affected in the past even if they all dont know about the show/ project itself, it will be putting there money to good use by creating awareness and stopping these children from making the wrong decisions, it will get them thinking. So that would mean that we would get the total amount of £4,632 from the funding.
£4,632 + £2,400 = £7,032
that will mean that the profit of the project will be - £7,032- £6,948 (total expenditure) = £84 profit

PROJECT SHORTFALL
Normally the seats aren’t always filled
up during matinee shows and there will be two matinee shows meaning only 50% of
the seats might be filled up,
50% x 2 = 100% (equivalent to one matinee
show)
For one performance ticket price will be
- £600 (120 seats)
One shortfall for a show = £2,400(four
shows) -
£600 ( a show ) = £1,800
£1,800
will be the short fall of the show.
meaning there will be a loss ;
income = £7,032 - £1,800 (shortfall) = £5,232
New income = £5,232 - total expenditure = £6,948 = -£1,716 (LOSS)
